3 DAY RWANDA, UGANDA GORILLA EXPRESS TOUR
Day 1: ARRIVAL AT KIGALI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND TRANSFER TO BWINDI
Upon arrival, your professional speaking driver-guide will be waiting for you at the arrivals exit of Kigali International Airport. Your driver-guide will take you to a nearby cafe to make introductions and brief you on your 3 days Rwanda, Uganda Gorilla expresses tour before you head off out of Kigali on a scenic 5-hour drive to the border town into Uganda.
Arrive at your accommodation check-in, refresh, and take lunch before we head off to your first activity and opportunity to stretch your legs in the fresh mountain air. We have a Batwa Experience planned for you.
Batwa Experience
The Batwa were the original inhabitants of the Bwindi forests and their lineage is thought to go back 5000 years. Since the 90’s the Batwa are displaced from their forest home and now seek out farming and tourism to support their communities. This experience is a way for them to still showcase their culture, bush skills, and unique way of life. They will take you into the forest and some of the Batwa presents are from the generation that was forest dwellers.
After this activity, you will be taken back to your lodge to rest, have dinner, and overnight as you get ready for your Mountain Gorilla Trek tomorrow morning. Overnight at your accommodation.
DAY 2: THE RARE MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREK EXPERIENCE
This morning take an early breakfast and be ready at your accommodation reception by 6:30 am where your driver/guide will be ready and waiting to transfer you to the briefing point of your Mountain Gorilla Trek start point.
Once at the briefing point the park rangers will organize everyone into like fitness groups. The rangers are in touch with advanced tracking guides and will also brief you on the trek rules and Gorilla behaviors before heading off into the rain-forest of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in search of these mighty beasts.
Mountain Gorillas are nomadic so treks can take between 2-6 hours depending on their movements. Once you get close to your group all weariness will evaporate as you get to spend an hour observing their behaviors, language, interactions, and eating habits. It’s often described as one of the great natural animals encounters on the planet and Bwindi is home to over 1/3 of the remaining 1063 or so Mountain Gorillas.
Then it’s time to descend, as your driver/guide will be waiting for you to hear about your unique experiences later embark on your safari vehicle for your transfer back to your accommodation for a freshen up, Lunch & and relax with the Lodge facilities. Dinner and Overnight at your accommodation
DAY 3: TRANSFER TO KIGALI FOR YOUR DEPARTURE
On this day you will have your early breakfast and check out from the Lodge. Your driver-guide will transfer you to Kigali international airport to catch up with your evening flight to your next destination.
